New to varsity: Jacie Lucas, jr., (RH); Lauren Gillette, jr., (S/MH); Kathy Erickson, jr., (DS); Emily Walker, jr., (MH); Emily Sheltrown, jr., (MH).
Outlook: The Falcons may have five returning seniors, but only outside hitter Jordan Foster saww significant playing time last year.
Also returning with Foster are seniors Selina Tabayoyong, Tiffani Rouse, Faith Wangler and Meaghan Tackebury.
While this year's team may be a bit thin on the experience side, coach Diane Gillette says that her squad's ability to catch on quickly has her optimistic about how this season will pan out.
“We have a very good-serving team that is consistent,” she says. “We have great team chemistry. The girls have drive and determination and catch on very quickly as to what is needed to be done at the varsity level.
“We are talented and I think with some varsity experience under our belts, we should do well in the conference.”
The many of the faces may have changed, the team's goals remain the same, including the elusive goal of ending Pinconning's run as perennial NEMC champs.
“One of the team goals since day one has been to be on top in the conference,” Gillette says. “Then go on to do battle and compete in the district (tournament), looking to advance further.”
